INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. McNess Champion Madagascar Vanilla Compound
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 1/4 teaspoon McNess Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Frosting
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk/whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
INGREDIENTS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan, line with parchment paper or use baking spray.
- In a medium size bowl, stir together butte and brown sugar until no lumps remain. Stir in egg and vanilla. Stir in pumpkin.
- Add the dry ingredients and stir until combined and no streaks of flour remain.
- Spoon into prepared pan and spread out to the edges.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove pan from the oven and cool on wire racks.
- Prepare the frosting while the bars are cooling. In a large bowl or stand mixer, incorporate the powdered sugar, milk or whipping cream and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until you reach the desired consistency.
- Frost the top of the pumpkin bars.
- Using the parchment paper, lift uncut bars from the pan. Cut into bars.
- Makes 12 bars.
