Funnel Cakes

INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • extra large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon McNess Champion Madagascar Vanilla Compound
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons confectionary sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together milk, egg, water and vanilla.
  2. Then add the dry ingredients and whisk until combined.
  3. Continue stirring until nice and smooth. Set aside.
  4. In a medium, deep-sided pot, heat oil to 375°F.
  5. Using a funnel spout or large mixing bowl with a pouring spout, drizzle batter from cup in a thin line, swirling around the pan and overlapping as desired. Cook for 2 minutes or until light golden brown, then flip and cook another 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Drain excess oil from funnel cakes by placing on dry paper towels.
  7. Then sprinkle with confectionary sugar and serve. Repeat with the remaining batter until all the batter is used.
